TEXAS RANGER DAY MARCH 12 IN BURTON
Downtown Burton will soon celebrate the history and heritage of the Texas Rangers.
The Burton Heritage Society’s 11th Annual Texas Ranger Day is set for Saturday, March 12th from noon to 5 p.m.
Guests will be able to experience authentic 1880’s Texas Ranger camp life with activities such as folk life demonstrations, weapons displays and live re-enactments from the Legends of the Texas Rangers and Old West Rangers.
In addition, there will be the Annie Maud Avis Memorial Fajita and Beans Cook-off, music from Kountry Chick DJ, crafts, tours, kid’s games, mule-driven buggy rides, a chuckwagon cooking display and the Lil Mr. and Miss Ranger Contest at 1 p.m.
Entry to the event is free. Tickets for all-you-can-eat fajitas and beans are $10 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds go toward the restoration of the historic Mount Zion Chapel.
