ST. PETER’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH TO HOST “ASHES ON THE WAY”

  

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Brenham is inviting the public to their “Ashes on the Way” event tomorrow (Wednesday).

Christians around the world will be celebrating Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent.

One of the traditions is for pastors to take ashes and place the sign of the cross on the foreheads of the faithful.

For those that are unable to attend an Ash Wednesday service, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 2310 Airline Drive in Brenham, is providing an option.

Drivers can come to the parking lot on the Austin Street side of the building to receive both a placing of the ashes and a blessing.

They will be offering this service from 7-9am and from noon-2pm.

This marks the return of the annual tradition for St. Peter’s. Last year’s “Ashes on the Way” event was canceled due CO-VID.
