BRENHAM CUBETTES GET TWO WINS ON OPENING DAY OF THE BRENHAM TOURNAMENT
CUBETTES 8 CONROE 2
The Cubettes got on the board early with one run in the first inning and two runs in the second. After Conroe scored in the top of the third to cut the lead to 2-1, Brenham put three runs up in the bottom of the 4th to make it 6-1.
Conroe would score one run in the top of the fifth to make it 6-2. The Cubettes added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth to seal the deal.
Della Jasinski got the win going five innings, allowing four hits, two runs, only one was earned, no walks, and struck out nine.

CUBETTES 7 MIDLAND LEGACY 3
After Midland Legacy jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, Avery Maurer led off the bottom of the first with a walk, then she stole second base, and moved to third on a throwing error by the Rebels. She later scored on an sacrifice fly by Cortney Ragnes to make it 1-1.
Legacy retook the lead 2-1 in the top of the third inning. In the bottom of the third, Kaylie Rodriguez led it off with a single. Riley Meyer laid down a sacrifice bunt. Maurer drew a walk. Cortney Ragnes reached on another throwing error by the Rebels that also allowed Rodriguez to score and tie the game 2-2. Kenley Mikolajchak followed with a two run double that scored Maurer and Ragnes to put Brenham up 4-2.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Cubettes added to their lead. Halle Scheel singled, and then stole second. Ragnes brought her home with an RBI double to put Brenham up 5-2.
Legacy scored a run in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 5-3. In the bottom of the inning, Annie Beckendorf singled and pinch-hitter Grace Ramsey drew a walk. They both scored on a two run double by Maurer to increase the lead to 7-3 as the game reached the end of its time limit.

The Brenham Tournament continues today (Friday). The Cubettes host Dripping Springs at 1pm and Lexington at 5pm (4:35pm pregame on KWHI)
They will finish up on Saturday with games against Channelview at 3pm, and Morton Ranch at 5pm.
