MORAN WINS CHAMPIONSHIP AT STATE 4-H COMPETITION
Madison Moran took home her second State Championship at the Texas 4-H Roundup State 4-H Food Show at Texas A&M.
After winning last year in the Healthy Desserts Category, Moran, who is member of the Washington County 4-H, won first place this year in the Side Dish Category.
She qualified after winning the District Food Show earlier this year with her dish, Broccoli Cauliflower Salad.
Moran participated in a full day contest by taking a nutrition test, preparing her dish from start to finish in a contest kitchen, and being judged on her preparation skills.
She then had to present her dish to the judges, take part in an interview, and complete a kitchen skills test demonstration.
The Texas 4-H State Food Show had 40 senior 4-Hers competing from 12 districts across the state.
