BETO O’ROURKE TO HOST TOWN HALL MEETING IN BRENHAM FRIDAY

Beto O'Rourke

Beto O’Rourke will stop in Brenham this week as part of his campaign for Texas governor.

O’Rourke (D – El Paso) will host a town hall meeting on Friday at 3 p.m. at The Barnhill Center’s Morriss Hall.  The gathering in Brenham will follow meetings this week in Galveston, Lake Jackson, El Campo, Victoria and Bastrop.

O’Rourke is holding more than 70 events in over 65 counties across the state through his 49-day “Drive for Texas”.  He is challenging Republican incumbent Greg Abbott this November to become the 49th governor of Texas.

Prior to seeking election as governor, O’Rourke represented Texas' 16th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019.  He lost his bid for election to the U.S. Senate in 2018 against Ted Cruz, and was a candidate in the 2020 presidential election before suspending his race in November 2019.
