DEADLINE SEPT. 16 TO REGISTER FOR DOWNTOWN BRENHAM SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA

  

One week remains to register for Main Street Brenham’s 19^th Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza.

The deadline to sign up at https://visitbrenhamtexas.com is next Friday, September 16^th.  The event invites the community to decorate downtown Brenham in fall colors with a variety of scarecrows.

Winning entries will receive a part of $1,400 in total cash prizes, which includes the Best Overall prize of $300 sponsored by KTEX/KWHI.  Other prize categories include:

• Most Votes for $200, sponsored by Hermann Furniture.
• Judges Choice for $200, sponsored by Must Be Heaven.
• Best Fall Theme for $125, sponsored by Revival Mercantile.
• Best School Spirit for $125, sponsored by The Book Nook.
• Silliest for $125, sponsored by The Pomegranate.
• The Cutest for $125, sponsored by The Canyon Chick.
• Two Honorable Mentions for $100 each, sponsored by Branded Boutique and Anatomy Clothing Co.

Scarecrows must be placed in downtown by Friday, September 23^rd.

Public voting opens on September 24^th and closes on October 23^rd.  Ballots can be picked up at sponsoring merchant locations or at the Visitor Center at 115 West Main Street.  All completed ballots must be turned in at the Visitor Center.

The winning scarecrows will be announced on October 26^th.
