WASHINGTON CO. FAIR CROWNS LITTLE, JUNIOR MR. & MISS

The Little and Junior Mr. and Miss for the 154th Washington County Fair were crowned Wednesday night.

Named as the Little Miss was Claire Schulte, daughter of Brandon and Emily Schulte, while the Little Mister is Collin Wilson, son of Chase and Robin Wilson.

This year’s Junior Miss is Brooklyn Gaertner, daughter of Jason and Sara Beth Gaertner, and the Junior Mister is Braeden Brewster, son of Chris and Megan Brewster.

Fair activities are in full swing, and they continue today (Thursday) with more livestock judging.  The poultry show will start at 7 a.m., followed by the commercial heifer pen show at 8 a.m., scramble heifer show at 3 p.m. and colt show at 4 p.m.  The Champion Drive, which provides a fair experience for local students with special needs, is set for 10:30 a.m.

Today is Senior Citizen’s Day at the fair.  A senior luncheon will be held at 11 a.m.  It is also Tejano Night, with Michael Salgado performing at 9 p.m.

Other fair attractions such as the Heart of America Carnival, children’s petting zoo, antique farm equipment displays, country creations and craft and vendor booths will remain open today.

The rodeo arena will host mutton bustin’ at 6:30 p.m., with the rodeo and wild steer saddling at 7:30 p.m.

KWHI will broadcast live from the fair starting at 10 a.m.
