An assistant superintendent at Brenham ISD is joining a San Antonio-area school district.

Brenham ISD announced this (Wednesday) morning that Brandi Hendrix, the district’s assistant superintendent of leadership and learning, has accepted an assistant superintendent position with Medina Valley ISD.  The Medina Valley School Board voted on the position at its meeting on Monday.

Hendrix said she appreciates and has enjoyed her time in Brenham, and has “developed relationships that will last a lifetime.”  She said she will miss everyone, but is “excited about the future and the opportunities it holds.”

Hendrix was hired by Brenham ISD in May 2020 from Montgomery ISD, where she had most recently been the principal of Montgomery High School.  Hendrix served as the interim principal at Brenham High School between the departure of former principal Joseph Chandler and the hiring of current principal Jennifer Griffin.

Brenham ISD stated it plans to hold off on posting the assistant superintendent position until early spring in order to have someone in place by the start of summer.

  1. Why would anyone stay past 2 years is right. BISD finally has established a good administration and teaching staff. Sure there will always be something or someone you don’t like but even if you are from Brenham you don’t want that job. There is no community support. They tried to build a nice school and CTE facility and it failed. You want a cheaper school fine, but you wonder why kids don’t take pride in there school but won’t build them a nice one. The CTE proposition was so barebones and you didn’t support vocational programs either. BISD hasn’t failed our kids Brenham has failed our kids.

    1. New school if they would do things right the first time we would not be in this mess furthermore where are all the tax dollars going?

  2. Brenham ISD might actually try hiring individuals who are invested in Brenham. We haven’t seen much of that in the last 5 to 10 years. And where has it gotten you, Central Office? Whom have you impressed?
