Around 2:15 p.m., Brenham police were dispatched to a reported shooting at the gas station on South Day Street at the Highway 290 frontage road.  Police say one person was shot, and the suspected party fled the scene.

The suspect, 24-year-old Bruce Ladarius Banks Jr., was later apprehended without incident at an apartment complex on Stone Hollow Drive.  He is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The victim was shot once and was life-flighted to a hospital.  Their condition is not known at this time.

Details on what led to the shooting are unclear.  Brenham police say this was an isolated incident with no danger to the public.

The police department says it is not releasing any further details at this time, including the identity of the victim, due to its ongoing investigation.
