BRENHAM CITY MANAGER TO PARTICIPATE IN ‘WOMEN IN CITY GOVERNMENT’ PANEL

Brenham City Manager Carolyn Miller has been invited to take part in a three-member panel to discuss her career in city government.

Brenham City Manager Carolyn Miller speaks to the
city council at a meeting on March 16, 2023.

Miller announced to the city council last week that she had been asked by the Student Chapter of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) at the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University to participate in a “Women in City Management” panel.

The event will be held on Thursday, March 30th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bush School of Government.  The panel is open to the public.

Miller, a 1980 graduate of Texas A&M University, will share her career experience and knowledge to help students learn about public service careers in local government.  She will also reflect on her time at Texas A&M and her background in accounting and local government management.

Other panelists are Angel Jones, City Manager of Missouri City, and Jennifer Prochazka, Assistant City Manager of College Station.

Miller began her career with the City of Brenham in 2005.  She was named Assistant City Manager in 2015 and was appointed to her current role in 2022.

  1. I hope Ms. Miller has a chance to visit and take notes from other participants on how to increase the Brenham TMRS retirement program to 7% since Brenham is lagging behind with a 5% program. Promises were made to up the program years ago.
