CUBS DROP DISTRICT GAME TO A&M CONSOLIDATED 11-5
The Brenham Cub Baseball Team dropped an 11-5 game against A&M Consolidated last (Tuesday) night in College Station.
A&M Consolidated jump out to an early four run lead. The Tigers scored one run in the first, two runs in the second, and one in the third.
Brenham finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning. Drake Bentke singled, and then took second on a passed ball. Gunner Gee brought him home with an RBI double. Grant Rogas then singled home Gee to cut the A&M Consolidated lead down to 4-2.
The Tigers broke the game open with six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it 10-2.
The Cubs came back with three runs in the top of the sixth. Tanner Reese led it off with a single. Barrett Kohring came in to courtesy run for him. Brody Hemann reached on an error and Lane Sparks walked to load the bases. Jacob Mabie hit a sacrifice fly that scored Kohring. Bentke reached base on an infield hit. On an error, Hemann and Sparks came home to score, and cut the lead in half to 10-5.
A&M Consolidated tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 11-5, which would turn out to be the final.
