2026 general election.
Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday approved the list of polling locations for the upcoming November election.
The eight polling places on Election Day, November 3rd, are split by two for each of the four commissioners precincts. Four are inside Brenham city limits.
The number of available voting locations is down from previous midterm elections; 2022’s midterm had 14 locations open on Election Day. Elections Administrator Jennifer Gajeske said polling locations are being combined, mainly due to a need to train more election judges.
The list of polling places that will be open includes the Washington County Expo Event Center in Brenham and Friedens Church of Washington Activity Building for Precinct 1 voters, the Brenham VFW Hall and the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department in Precinct 2, the Brenham American Legion Hall and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Activity Building in Precinct 3, and the Blinn College Student Center in Brenham and the Burton American Legion Hall for Precinct 4.
While the candidates for Washington County offices will be unopposed in the November election following the spring primary and primary runoff, local voters will have a $15.45 million bond proposition to weigh in on for the construction of a new multi-use facility at the Washington County Expo. There will also be numerous state and federal races on the ballot.
Early voting will be held at the Washington County Courthouse Annex, beginning on October 19th and continuing through October 30th. Applications for ballots by mail must be received by the end of business on October 23rd.
