CUBS LOSE TO MONTGOMERY 3-2, DROP TO 0-5 IN DISTRICT
The Brenham Cubs lost a heartbreaker to Montgomery last (Tuesday) night 3-2 at Fireman's Park.
Brenham got things started off on a good note. Rylan Wooten was hit by a pitch in the second inning, and later came around to score on a passed ball to put the Cubs up 1-0.
Montgomery would tie the game with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
Brenham went back in from in the bottom of the fourth inning as Gunner Gee drew a walk, and later came around to score on an RBI single by Tanner Reese to make it 2-1 Cubs.
The Brenham offense managed just three hits in the game, all of them singles.
Montgomery scored two runs in the top of the 5th inning, and took a 3-2 lead, which would turn out to be all they needed.
Lane Sparks took the tough luck loss on the hill. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowed three runs, only two were earned, walked two, and struck out three.
The series shifts to Montgomery on Friday night at 7pm. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:35pm.
