LA GRANGE MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

A La Grange man is charged with multiple drug offenses after his arrest Monday.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Seth Nagel reported seeing a vehicle leaving a gas station around 9:15 p.m. Monday in the 1800 block of West Travis Street in La Grange.

Per a Fayette County narcotics investigator, the vehicle matched the description of a vehicle that had been reportedly selling narcotics at the gas station.

Deputy Nagel stopped the vehicle for displaying an expired registration tag.  When he contacted the driver, he observed a smoked marijuana blunt in plain view.

The driver, 25-year-old Damon Stewart, admitted to the blunt containing marijuana. 

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and found inside were 3.9 ounces of marijuana, 33 grams of methamphetamine, 17 grams of ecstasy and one THC pen.

Stewart was arrested for the narcotics and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
