BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO MEET MONDAY

  

The Burton City Council will meet on Monday after initially rescheduling its postponed meeting from April 11^th to Tuesday.

Up for consideration is the possible prohibition of engine brakes inside city limits.  Engine braking uses forces within the engine instead of the service brakes to slow a vehicle down.  Large trucks and semi-trailers often use it to prevent wear on the brake pads and help maintain vehicle control, but many cities and towns prohibit it due to the loud noise it makes.

The council will then consider the addition of a no thru trucks image sign on North Brazos Street at East Mulberry Street – Spur 125.

In other action, councilmembers will:

• Consider the city’s final amended general and water/sewer budgets for the 2022-23 Fiscal Year.
• Potentially hire Permitting Services, LLC to prepare a wastewater permit application to be filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality before September 8^th.
• Review and consider the Fiscal Year 2022-23 audit of the seizure funds account as required by the code of criminal procedure.
• Act on granting a mobile home variance for 12407 East Branch Street.

The council will meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Burton City Hall.
