GUEST SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED FOR LIFETIME LEARNING LUNCHEON
Authors Diane Kramer and Joyce Stamp Lilly are going to be the guest speakers at Brenham Lifetime Learning’s next luncheon.
The luncheon will be held on Friday, April 28, from 11:30am-1pm in the Janis Sneed Banquet Room of the Blinn College Center.
Registration for lunch and the presentation is $25 each and can be done on-line at www.lifetimelearningbrenham.org. The deadline to sign up is this Friday, April 21.
Kramer and Lilly are co-authors of the book, “Second Lives: The Journey of Brain Injury Survivors and their Healers.”
The book is a memoir of Lilly’s husband, Dr. Ralph B. Lilly, who was a practicing neurologist for fifty years and became an expert in treating brain injuries.
Dr. Lilly suffered his own traumatic brain injury in 1980. The book chronicles his recovery, and shares stories about survivors and their healers.
The tragic experience transformed Dr. Lilly’s life, and his approach to his neurology practice with a philosophy of “Doctors treat those with brain injury, but loved ones heal them.”
After Dr. Lilly passed away in 2021, Mrs. Lilly helped Kramer finish the book.
Following their presentation, there will be an author signing. Copies of the book are going to be available for purchase for $20.
