NAVASOTA POLICE ARREST TWO AFTER ASSAULT

Two Navasota men face charges in a Friday morning assault.

Navasota police responded around 7:45 a.m. to the 700 block of Doris Street, where they met with a female juvenile who told them she had been assaulted by a male subject.

During the assault, the victim said she fled into another residence which the man also entered.  The victim told police he continued to assault her and stole an item from her before fleeing. 

Officers found the man, 18-year-old Leonard Jessie, in a nearby residence.  He was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence – Impeding Breath, Robbery and Burglary of a Habitation.

During the investigation, police say 20-year-old Trayvon Jessie made violent threats towards the victim’s family members.

Around 2 p.m., police, Grimes County Sheriff’s deputies and DPS units executed arrest and search warrants.  Trayvon was located in the 500 block of West Washington Avenue and taken into custody on a Terroristic Threat warrant.

Authorities’ search of the residence in the 700 block of Doris Street resulted in them recovering the stolen item and finding other evidence. 

Further charges are pending.
