LAKE CREEK SHUTS OUT BRENHAM CUBS 3-0

The Lake Creek Lions shutout the Brenham Cubs 3-0 tonight (Tuesday) at Fireman's Park. The loss combined with Montgomery defeating Magnolia West 4-1 officially eliminates the Cubs from playoff contention.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth inning. Dawson Keim for Brenham and Weston Moss were engaged in a pitcher's duel.

Keim got into some trouble in the fifth and Lane Sparks came on in relief. The only Lake Creek run to score was on a wild pitch.

Lake Creek would get another run on a bases loaded walk in the sixth, and then finished it off with an RBI double in the seventh.

The Cubs managed just four hits in the game.

Brenham wraps up the season on Friday at Lake Creek at 7pm.
