Smith noticed several criminal indicators and obtained consent to search the vehicle.  The search revealed a concealed compartment in the trunk floor area, hiding the bundles that tested positive for cocaine.

Approximately 11 kilos of cocaine, with a street value of $385,000, were seized.

22-year-old Joshua Joe Rosas of Rio Grande City was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Assisting Smith at the scene were Drug Interdiction Sergeant Randy Thumann, K-9 Kolt and Deputy Herman Olvera.
