NAVASOTA BRINGS BACK FAMILIAR NAME TO BE NEW HEAD SOFTBALL COACH

Lisa Marek (Navasota ISD)

Navasota ISD didn’t have to look too far to find its next Head Softball Coach.  Lisa Marek was named last night to the position.

Marek is a Navasota High School graduate who lettered in volleyball, basketball, and softball.

Marek played softball at Northeast Community College from 2002 to 2004 and transferred to Sam Houston State University from 2004 to 2006 to further her education and continue her college softball career.

She had previously been the Navasota Lady Rattler Head Softball Coach from 2010-2016, before taking a brief hiatus from education.

Marek returned to Navasota ISD in 2019 as a teacher and assistant softball coach.

"I believe teaching and coaching allows us to have a huge impact on kids' lives. We’re given the opportunity to not only teach academics and sports, but also help them be successful by preparing them for life after high school," said Coach Marek. "I am looking forward to once again leading the Lady Rattler softball program and excited for what the future has in store for our young ladies."
