Edouardo Ndecky will visit Brenham’s First Baptist Church, 2715 South Market Street, to talk about the impact Operation Christmas Child had on his life as a child in West Africa.  Doors to the church open at 6 p.m., and the service begins at 6:30 p.m.

Operation Christmas Child, a Christian outreach project of Samaritan’s Purse, delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to millions of children in need each year.  The shoeboxes are filled with toys, school supplies and personal care items.  The gifts are shipped to children outside the United States who are affected by war, poverty, famine, natural disaster and disease, as well as to children on Native American reservations in the United States.

Ndecky will speak about how he received a shoebox as a child in Senegal and how the gift had a life-changing impact.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 209 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in over 170 countries and territories.
