BRENHAM FIREMAN’S FIESTA AUG. 11-12 AT FIREMAN’S TRAINING CENTER

A big fundraiser for the Brenham Fire Department is just under a month away.

The 54th Annual Fireman’s Fiesta will take place August 11-12 at the Fireman’s Training Center.

Festivities open on Friday, August 11th with a cornhole tournament.  Registration starts at 6 p.m., and play begins at 7 p.m.  Cash prizes will go to the first through third place winners.  The bar and kitchen will be open.

On Saturday, August 12th, an all-you-can-eat sirloin steak and sausage meal will be served dine-in or drive-thru from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  A live auction starts at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a silent auction and drawing.

Money raised from the Fireman’s Fiesta goes to support the fire department, with past events helping to fund the purchase of new equipment, firefighter training and upgrades to the Fireman’s Training Center.  This year’s event is made more important after the department’s other major fundraiser, the spring fish fry, was not held due to scheduling conflicts.

Meal tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Brenham fire station and from any Brenham firefighter.  They are also available at Robert’s Service Station, K&M Grocery and Dan’s Meat Market.
