BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO REVIEW BUDGET
The Burton School Board will continue discussion on budget projections for the 2023-24 school year at a meeting on Wednesday.
Previous talks on the budget placed the estimated total at $17.3 million. Last year’s adopted budget was $15.9 million.
The major reason for the increase is the district owing a larger recapture payment to the state, coming in at a forecasted $6.5 million for the new budget compared to $5.5 million last year.
The only other item up for consideration is the acceptance of any new staff hires or resignations.
The board will meet Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Burton High School auditorium.
