BRENHAM BOOSTER CLUB HOLDS SUCCESSFUL PRE-SEASON CUB FOOTBALL BANQUET
Hundreds gathered on Saturday night at the Fireman’s Training Center as the Brenham Booster Club hosted the Brenham Cub Pre-Season Football Banquet.
Head Coach Danny Youngs introduced the players for the upcoming season.
The evening also featured retired former Brenham Cub Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Tim Oehrlein as the guest speaker.
Coach Oehrlein was excited about the chance to return to Brenham, and discussed with KWHI his message for the players.
A live auction and a silent auction were held to raise money for the upcoming season.
Among the items featured in the auction were signed jerseys from former Brenham Cub and current NFL players Austin Schlottmann and Courtland Sutton as well as former San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates, and current Houston Texans Head Coach DeMeco Ryans.
Coach Danny Youngs was grateful for the turnout at the banquet, and thanked the community for their support.
The Brenham Cub Freshmen report for their first practice later this (Monday) evening at 5pm at the Field House. They will practice from 6-8pm. Because they participated in Spring Football, the Varsity and Junior Varsity do not start their practices until next Monday, August 7th.
The Cubs have their only scrimmage at Cy Park on Thursday, August 17, at 7pm. They will open the season against Oak Ridge at Cub Stadium on Friday, August 25, at 7:30pm. You can follow the Cubs all season long on KWHI 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
