BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO SET TAX RATE

  

The Burton City Council is scheduled to set the tax rate at their next meeting on Tuesday. 

The proposed tax rate for the 2023-2024 fiscal year is 28.979 cents per $100 valuation.  That includes an Operating Tax of 6.5182 cents per $100 valuation and a debt service tax of 22.4608 cents per $100 valuation.

They are also scheduled to set a public hearing on the tax rate for their September 12 meeting.

Other agenda items to be taken up by the Council include:

Approving the 2022-2023 fiscal year audit as presented by Medack and Oltman LLP

Purchasing No Engine Break Signs, and TxDot Required Slip Base Post Systems for Spur 125, FM 1607, and FM 390

And a resolution to dissolve the Burton Beautification and Compliance Committee.

In addition to that, Susan Kiel will be making a presentation regarding the Burton Chamber of Commerce.

The Burton City Council meets on Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Burton City Hall.
