BURTON LADY PANTHER VOLLEYBALL STARTS SEASON WITH A WIN

The Burton Lady Panthers Volleyball Team started the season off with a 3-2 victory over Lexington last (Tuesday) night at the Burton High School Gym. It was also the first career win for new Lady Panther Head Volleyball Coach Blaire Smith.

Burton won the first set 25-19, but then Lexington won the second set 25-17 to tie the match at 1-1. The Lady Panthers won the third set 25-20 to take a 2-1 lead. However, the Lady Eagles followed that up by winning the fourth set 25-19 to tie it at 2-2. Burton came back and won a back-and-forth final set 19-17.

Amaya Williams finished with 12 kills and 17 digs.

Aerynn Huntsman also had 12 kills. She also added four aces, and 24 digs.

Paige Fritsch dished out 39 assists.

Reagan Roemer added 29 digs.

Next up, the Lady Panthers will be taking part in the Round Rock West Wood Tournament, beginning tomorrow (Thursday). They are scheduled to face Klein Oak at 1pm, Antonian at 2pm, and Pflugerville at 4pm. Their Thursday games are being played at Round Rock Stony Point High School.
