ERCOT CALLS FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION THURSDAY
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is asking residents, businesses and government agencies to voluntarily reduce their energy consumption.

Thursday predicts that demand will surpass supply
around 8 p.m.
(ERCOT)
ERCOT has issued a conservation appeal from 3 to 10 p.m. today (Thursday), saying high demand and low wind-power generation will likely lead to low operating reserves this afternoon into the evening.
ERCOT said while it is not currently experiencing emergency conditions, forecasts are showing a “high potential” to enter emergency operations this evening. As of 2 p.m. today, ERCOT’s supply and demand dashboard shows demand will exceed supply around 8 p.m.
According to the Public Utility Commission of Texas, ERCOT is working with out-of-state independent system operators and market participants to secure additional power generation capacity.
