BURTON PANTHERS TO OPEN UP DISTRICT PLAY AT FALLS CITY

The Burton Panther Football Team isn't off to the start they had hoped for, but neither ls City Beavers. Both teams enter the start of District 14-2A Division II play with 1-3 records.

The Panthers opened up the 2023 season with a 31-14 loss to Holland. In week two, they beat Hearne 27-24. However, Burton has suffered back-to-back losses to Schulenburg 35-21, and San Antonio Holy Cross 21-20.

The Beavers started the season with a 48-33 win over Three Rivers. Since then, they have lost three in a row to Poth 33-0, Stockdale 24-21, and Flatonia 35-28.

Burton and Falls City have a long standing rivalry that that usually involves playoff games. However, last year, Burton and Falls City wound up in the same district. The Panthers won that game 13-12.

For Coach Hoode, he knows that no when these two teams get together, it is going to be a tough ball game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm at Fall City.
