12TH ANNUAL BRAZOS VALLEY FAIR & RODEO KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND

The 12th Annual Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo is having their kickoff weekend beginning this Friday and running through Sunday in Bryan.

The event gets started this Friday with a tractor pull.

Saturday’s activities will include the barbecue cookoff, a car show, a tractor pull, a weld-off and woodworking competition, and an agrobotics competition.

Then on Sunday, they are going to have the Parade of Breeds at 2pm in the North Arena.

The Main Fair Weekend is going to be Friday, October 20, to Sunday, October 22.

On Friday, October 20, the carnival opens at 4pm. They will have numerous activities for kids including the Swifty Swine Pig Races, the Paul Bunyon Lumberjack Show, the Sea Lion Splash, Mutton Bustin’, and a Dairy Classroom.  The CPRA/UPRA Rodeo starts at 7pm, and the evening wraps up with a musical performance from Kolby Cooper.

On Saturday, October 21, they are going to have the Heifer Show and the Meat Goat Show.  That evening at the rodeo, they will have the recognition of VIP’s and make scholarship presentations. The evening concludes with a pair of country music legends performing.  T. Graham Brown takes the stage at 9:45pm.  He’ll be followed by headliner Doug Stone at 10:45pm.

The Fair and Rodeo wraps up on Sunday, October 22, with the Swine Show and the Steer Show.  The rodeo begins that afternoon at 4pm.  The evening concludes with a performance by Grupo Pesado at 7pm.
