BURTON CITY COUNCIL HOLDS ROUTINE MEETING

  

The Burton City Council approved a routine slate of items during its meeting on Tuesday.

First on the agenda, the council agreed to close North Railroad Street from the school to FM 390 and from FM 390 to the post office drop box, and for West Texas Street to be blocked on the west side of North Railroad Street.  The closure is for the Trick or Treat Trail set for October 28th from 6 to 8 p.m.

Later, the council voted to renew an interlocal agreement with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to provide law enforcement within the city.  Washington County approved its half of the agreement during the commissioners court’s meeting on September 19th.  

Councilmembers also approved amended budgets showing actual expenses through September of the city’s current fiscal year.

In addition, they approved a resolution giving one nomination for the Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors.  The council’s nomination was Halee Stark Kalkhake.

A proclamation was also read in recognition of November 25th as Small Business Saturday.
