BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO FOUR CALLS MONDAY
The Brenham Fire Department went out for four calls on Monday.
Just before 8:45 a.m., the department was dispatched to the Bluffview Villas apartments at 2699 Schulte Boulevard for utility service. A resident told firefighters there was a smell in the apartment, but after checking the unit, they found nothing.
At 10:45 a.m., units were called out to East Alamo Street at Blue Bell Road for a crash with no entrapment. The department made it to the location and found a two-vehicle accident. Firefighters provided traffic control and mitigated fluids that were on the roadway, and once the vehicles were cleared, they returned to the station.
After 5:15 p.m., BFD members responded to another crash without entrapment, this one in the 1700 block of Highway 105. They mitigated fluids leaking from the vehicles on the road and controlled traffic, departing once the fluids were removed.
Shortly after 5:45 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department and Salem Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a grass fire in the 3500 block of Mustang Road. Firefighters found about a quarter acre on fire and started to extinguish the blaze. Once the fire was out, Brenham and Salem units made sure any hot spots were out. The Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department was called for water. Once the hot spots were gone, units returned to service.
