BRENHAM VISITS HUNTSVILLE FOR DISTRICT SHOWDOWN

The Brenham Cub Football Team heads to Huntsville this (Friday) evening for a big showdown against the Huntsville Hornets. Both teams have clinched playoff spots and are battling it out for positioning. Brenham, Huntsville, and Richmond Randle are all tied for second place with 3-1 records.

Brenham is currently on a three game winning streak that has improved their record to 5-3 overall. Huntsville is coming off a tough loss to Lake Creek in which they led for most of the game, but Lake Creek rallied to win it in the end 27-20.

The Cubs are led by RB Jakoby Dixon (Fr.) who has 103 carries for 945 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. He also has caught 25 passes for 449 yard and five receiving touchdowns.

QB Jordan Harvey (Jr.) has completed 95 of 144 passes (66%) for 1,386 yards, 10 touchdowns, and four touchdowns. He has also carried the ball 74 times for 259 yards and three touchdowns.

RB Jaylon Ward (Sr.) checks in with 59 carries for 420 yards and five touchdowns.

The receiving corps includes Chris Guidry (So.), who has 17 catches for 465 yards and two touchdowns, and Ivan Salazar (Sr.) with 16 catches for 206 yards for one touchdown.

Huntsville's top three are:

QB Austin Taylor (Jr.) - 46 of 71 passes completed (65%) for 690 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions

RB Traeshawn Brown (So.) - 102 carries for 584 yards and 9 touchdowns

WR Melton Green (Sr.) - 15 catches for 307 yard and 4 touchdowns

Brenham Cub Head Coach Danny Youngs knows that the next two weeks are going to be big.

Lake Creek has their bye week, while Randle is at Rudder, and Montgomery is at Lamar Consolidated.

Next week, Lake Creek will be at the Cubs, while Randle takes on Huntsville.
