BRENHAM CUB FOOTBALL SEASON COMES TO END IN BI-DISTRICT LOSS TO PORT NECHES GROVES, 37-7
The season came an end for the Brenham Cub Football Team in the Bi-District Round of the playoffs last (Friday) night against The Port Neches Groves Indians.
The Indians scored the first touchdown in the first quarter on a four-yard run by QB Shea Adams out of the Wildcat formation. Adams, a senior, was making his return after missing a large chunk of the season with a broken foot.
Adams then scored on a one-yard run at the beginning of the second quarter that put PNG up 14-0.
The Cubs finally got on the scoreboard on a one yard run by Jordan Harvey. Bleu Cienega added the extra point to cut the lead to 7-0.
That would be the closest that Brenham would get.
Indians' kicker Giovanni Oceguera added a field with five second left in the half that increased the PNG to 17-7.
PNG added to their lead with a touchdown pass from Connor Bailey to London Nunley. The Cubs blocked the extra point, but lead increased to 23-7.
In the fourth quarter, Adams scored his third touchdown of the game, and Blair Chatagnier added as touchdown run as well to make it a 37-7 game.
The Brenham Cubs finish the season with a 5-6 record.
It was the final game for Cub Seniors: Daeylon Watson, Ivan Salazar, Cade Moore, Rhett Faske, Kasen Edwards, Juan Mata, Jose Castillo, Jaylon Ward, Trae Lockett, John Rigsby, Chris Elliot, Andre Powell, Aidan Garcia, Landon Shipley, Connor Appelt, Connor Schlottmann, Colby Houlihan, Dane Kruse, Miguel Rodriguez, and Braylon Ragston.
