BRENHAM THEATRE STUDENTS WIN AWARDS AT SAN ANTONIO COMPETITION

  

The Brenham High School Theatre Arts Department took a group of students and their UIL one act play, Nellie, to the 2023 Texas ITS Fest in San Antonio this weekend, and came home with multiple awards.

Their performance of Nellie was awarded First Place, and named, Chapter Select, which means they get to represent the State of Texas at Nationals this summer.

The cast and crew members also won several individual awards. 

Paige Stewart was named Best Supporting Performer.

Skyler Davenport and Laura Beth Bodensteiner were named as Superior Performers.

Melissa Richards, Sonia Acosta, and Jake Knowles were recognized as Excellent Performers.

Crew awards went to Tray Gates for Best Lighting, Cameron Kulow for Best Props, and Winnie Le for Best Hair.

In addition to the play, Cub Company had students qualify for Nationals in Individual and Group Events.

Noble Pharaon and Paige Stewart qualified for Duet Acting. The teams of Skyler Davenport and Michaela Millard and Libby Shelton and Sadie Royer qualified for Duet Musical. Meanwhile, Maddie Alexander qualified for Solo Musical.

In addition to that, Seniors Skyler Davenport and Paige Stewart were selected as All-Star Cast.
