BRENHAM PLANNING & ZONING TO MEET MONDAY

Three items will come before the Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday.

Firstly, commissioners will take up a specific use permit request by Calvary Baptist Church to build an open-air pavilion behind the church building at 1100 Niebuhr Street, in an R-1 single-family residential zoning area.  The building would be used for fellowship gatherings, picnic events, vacation bible school, National Night Out and similar activities.

Because the building was not part of Calvary Baptist Church’s plans when it received its initial specific use permit in April 2017, an updated permit is required.

The commission will then hear a replat request from Ted and Rosa Dean for 6.66 acres at 164 Lounge Road.  The property is currently developed with a single-family home, with the remaining property being vacant.  The property owners wish to replat the land into two lots to allow future development.

After that, commissioners will hear another replat request, this one from the Brenham Housing Authority regarding 6.69 acres at 1003 and 909 Hasskarl Drive.  The land is developed with multi-family residential housing.  The city says there was uncertainty with the utility placements prior to development, so the replat provides the required public utility easements.

City staff recommend approval of all three items.

The commission will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
