BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO THREE CALLS ON SATURDAY

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls during the day on Saturday. 

The first call came in at 11:40am for a report of a vehicle fire in the 300 Block Highway 290 West.

Upon arrival, Brenham Firefighters found a 4-door pickup truck with fire coming out of the engine compartment.

FD personnel used tanked water and a hose line to extinguish the fire, which was contained to the engine compartment.

Firefighters stood by until a wrecker could remove the truck from the roadway.

Then, just before 1pm, BFD was dispatched to the 700 Block of Sabine Street for a reported fire in the oven of a residence.

Firefighters found spilled food in the oven that was smoking.  They turned the oven off, and advised the owner to clean it before using it again.

The final call came in just before 5pm at the 200 Block of White Court for a reported gas leak. 

Upon arrival, BFD personnel found the leak around the meter.  They stood by until the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived, and then returned to service.
