SALES TAX REBATES UP IN WASHINGTON CO. TO BEGIN 2024
2024’s sales and tax distributions kicked off on a positive note for Washington County entities.
The county’s rebate in January was $385,468, up 0.7 percent from what the county received a year ago at $382,784.
The City of Brenham collected $845,829 this month, an increase of 11.94 percent from January 2023, when the city took in $755,585.
The City of Burton received $10,002 in January, an uptick of 5.6 percent from the $9,471 it brought in last January.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations this month, up 3.3 percent from last January.
