CUBETTES AND MAGNOLIA TO MEET IN A PLAY-IN GAME

The Brenham Cubette Basketball Team will tangle with the Magnolia Lady Bulldogs for the third time this season. This time, there is a trip to the playoffs on the line.

Brenham and Magnolia finished in a tie for fourth place in District 21-5A with identical 7-7 records. There is going to be a "play-in" game tonight (Friday) at 6pm at Navasota High School.

KWHI will broadcast the game live beginning with the pregame at 5:45pm on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.

The Cubettes won four of their last six games of the regular season including finishing with a 45-40 win over Magnolia West and a 49-47 win over College Station.

Magnolia is coming off of a 50-46 upset win over Magnolia West. Prior to that, the Lady Bulldogs had lost three in a row.

In the two head-to-head meetings this season, Magnolia beat Brenham 42-36 back on December 8, and Magnolia then won again 53-41 on January 17.

The winner of tonight's (Friday's) game will face Killeen Chaparral in the Bi-District Round of the Playoffs on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
