CUB BASKETBALL RETURNS TO PLAYOFFS TONIGHT (TUESDAY) AFTER 7-YEAR ABSENCE

The long wait officially ends tonight (Tuesday) when the Brenham Cub Basketball Team takes the court for their first playoff game in seven years.

Brenham is 24-9 on the season, and finished 7-7 in district. The Cubs and College Station tied for third place, but the Cubs lost the coin toss, and so College Station got the #3 seed and Brenham got the #4 seed.

The Killeen Ellison Eagles are 29-5 on the season and finished as the Champions of their district with a 12-2 record. They finished a game ahead of Waco University and Killeen Shoemaker for the title.

Also in the latest poll that just came out yesterday (Monday), the Eagles have moved up to #10 in the state in 5A. Last season, Ellison went all the way to the State Championship game, where they ended up losing to Dallas Kimball in the finals.

The opening tipoff is scheduled for 7pm at Rockdale High School. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:45pm on 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
