The City of Navasota has finalized the purchase of a 4-acre tract of land that will become the future home for the Navasota Fire Department.

The City announced on their Facebook page that the new station is to be located along Spur 515, directly behind the Circle T Truck Stop.

Officials said that they feel this will be an ideal location for the Navasota Fire Department to respond to their growing community.

Navasota’s current fire station was built and opened in late fall of 1994.

The City said that the 30-year-old building has reached the end of its useful life and can no longer continue as the permanent home for the NFD.

Last year, Mayor Bert Miller assigned a City Council subcommittee of two council members to work closely with the city manager and city staff to identify potential locations for a new fire station.

The City of Navasota offered their thanks to realtor, Dr. Max Brand, and the family of Faber McMullen for helping to choose the best location for the new fire station.
