AUSTIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS ACCUSED SEX OFFENDER

  

The Austin County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of an accused sex offender that took place on Thursday, March 28.

60-year-old William Craig Burch was taken into custody and charged with six counts of Indecency with a Child-Sexual Contact.

Indecency with a Child-Sexual Contact is a second-degree felony that is punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.

The arrest of Burch is the result of a months-long investigation into the allegations against him by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Austin County Sheriff’s Office and the Austin County District Attorney’s Office.

Burch is being held at the Austin County Jail pending trial.
