THREE CALLS THURSDAY, ONE EARLY FRIDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department received three calls on Thursday and one early this (Friday) morning.

Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the department was called out for an alarm sounding at the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South.  Units found maintenance on site replacing a bad smoke detector.  The alarm was reset, and the department cleared the scene.

Just before 12:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 800 block of East Main Street for a report of a tree limb that fell onto a vehicle.  They arrived and found a large tree limb that fell onto a parked vehicle.  The limb caused a service line going to a home in the area to break.  The fire department stood by until members of the City of Brenham Electric Department made location.

At 4 p.m., units responded to a transportation incident at Highway 290 West and Highway 36 North.  They found a two-vehicle accident with fluids leaking from one of the vehicles.  BFD members used dry absorbent on the spill and returned to service after the roadway was back open.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m. today, firefighters were sent out for an alarm sounding at a home in the 800 block of North Berlin Road.  The homeowner met with units outside and advised that her smoke detectors were going off.  The department found one smoke detector that was bad and replaced it before returning to the station.
