NAME OF DECEASED FROM FRIDAY’S INCIDENT AT DPS OFFICE RELEASED

  

Law enforcement officials have released the identity of the person that was killed in this past Friday’s incident in which a Chappell Hill man crashed an 18-wheeler into the DPS Brenham Office. 

The deceased is 78-year-old Bobby Huff.  Huff was one of the people inside the DPS Office when 42-year-old Clenard Parker drove a stolen 18-wheeler through the front of the building.

Six people were injured and required transport to area hospitals.

Huff was flown by medical helicopter to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

According to DPS Sgt. Justin Ruiz, two other victims remain hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.

Parker remains in the Washington County Jail, where he is so far charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, one count of Evading Arrest or Detention Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and one Count of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle.

Sgt. Ruiz further stated that the case remains an active and ongoing investigation by the Texas Rangers, and no further information is available for release at this time.

Meanwhile, the DPS said that the Brenham Driver’s License Office will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time. The nearest alternative offices are located in Bryan at 2571 North Earl Rudder Freeway, in Hempstead at 235 Highway 290 East, and in Caldwell at 102 North Shaw Street.

Customers with appointments at the Brenham Office will be contacted by the DPS Driver’s License Division.

  1. There is absolutely no reason this man shouldn’t be charged with pre-meditated murder and several counts of attempted murder. He had every intention of taking lives that day! The families of these victims deserve justice!! He should never see the light of day again! And hopefully he’s being held without bail!

  2. Premeditated ring any bells DA of Washington County? Ramming a known occupied building with an 80 thousand pound truck on purpose that was stolen for that very purpose pretty clear to me what needs to happen next.
    Praying for all the victims cause they are innocent and was just trying to get their license renewed and the DPS employees were providing the service a job. None of them will ever be the same.

  3. He needs to be charged with premeditated murder!! He told them he would be back on Friday!! These charges need to be upgraded!!
