HEMPSTEAD ISD BRINGING BACK A FAMILIAR FACE AS HMS PRINCIPAL

Hempstead ISD has announced that they are bringing back a familiar face to resume her former role.
Erika Douglas has been named as the new principal at Hempstead Middle School, a position she had once held previously.
Douglas returns to Hempstead this fall after having been the Secondary ELA Coordinator for the Brookshire Royal ISD.
Douglas has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of North Texas, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
She has been in the education field for over 19 years in a variety of roles such as teacher, coach, girls’ athletic coordinator, assistant principal, and principal.
Douglas said that she looks forward to reconnecting with the community, building on past successes, witnessing student growth, collaborating with new and familiar staff, implementing new ideas, and driving academic excellence.
She also stated that her goal is to lead Hempstead Middle School with dedication, transparency, and a relentless focus on creating an educational environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
