CITY OF BRENHAM’S ANNUAL FIRE HYDRANT AUDIT BEGINS MONDAY

The City of Brenham’s annual fire hydrant audit gets underway on Monday.

The city says Texas Hydrant Service will conduct the audit to ensure that all of the city’s fire hydrants are functioning correctly.

The audit will last for approximately a week and take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day, with three crews each consisting of three personnel.

During the audit, each fire hydrant will take about 5 minutes to inspect.  If residents notice the water inside their home appears cloudy or smells of chlorine during this time, the city says to run the tap until it clears, as this is a normal occurrence and should resolve quickly.

The city thanks the public for its patience and cooperation as it works to ensure safety and water system reliability for the community.
