ONE INJURED, MOBILE HOME DAMAGED AFTER ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 105

One person was transported and a mobile home was damaged as the result of an accident Saturday morning east of Brenham.

The crash happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Highway 105 near New Years Creek.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a 2011 Honda SUV was traveling eastbound on the highway when it had to stop for dogs in the road.

A 2007 GMC SUV that was also headed eastbound did not stop and struck the Honda, causing the Honda to go into the ditch and then onto private property, where it hit a mobile home and its stairway patio.

No one was at the house at the time of the crash.  The overall damage to the house was described as minor.

The driver of the Honda was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Brenham for non-incapacitating injuries.  The driver of the GMC was not injured.
