RICHARDS ISD VOLLEYBALL COACH JOHN CARLISLE PASSES AWAY

Richards ISD is mourning the loss of volleyball coach John Carlisle, who passed away on Thursday during a volleyball practice session.

According to a statement from the school district, staff members immediately began efforts to resuscitate Carlisle, but were unsuccessful. Students were escorted out of the gym in order to allow first responders to arrive.

The district said that counseling and supportive services will be on campus for the next several days for students, faculty, and staff. The cause of death has not been released.

Richards ISD sent out a statement extending their deepest condolences to Carlisle’s family, friends, students, and players.  They added that he will be profoundly missed.
