BURTON CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT MUD, SWEAT, AND CHEERS

The Burton Panther Cross Country teams kicked off their 2024 season this past Saturday with a trek out to the Top Tier Training Camp near Caldwell for the annual Mud, Sweat, & Cheers Invitational Relay.

The Panthers' lead off leg, Devlin Douglas (Jr.), posted a team best split of 9:39 for the 2400m course.  Cadeyn Manley (Jr.), Cooper Liles, (So.), and Hunter Duffy (Jr.) all contributed to the team's 49:12 overall time.  Mason Helton (So.) competed in the individual 2400m run.

Taking the baton first for the Lady Panther's was Peyton Sigsbee (Sr.), whose 11:25 split led the squad.  Avery Applewhite (Sr.), Madeline Dowling (Fr.), and Kara Landriault (So.) all fought for a combined 54:23 on the obstacle-filled six mile race.  Avery Lamson (So.) and Autumn Applewhite (Fr.) both competed in the individual 2400m run.

The Panthers travel to Cameron for the 1st Annual "Midnight Run" Invitational.  The meet will be held on Thursday night at the Cameron Junior High Campus.  The Panthers are scheduled to run at 7:55 PM with the Lady Panthers to follow at 8:20 PM.
