BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO ACCIDENT & GRASS FIRE ON WEDNESDAY

The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice Wednesday afternoon.

The first call came shortly after 2:15 p.m. to Highway 290 and Old Mill Creek Road for a motor vehicle accident.  Units blocked traffic and secured the scene until the accident was cleared.

Around 4:45 p.m., the department responded to the 1600 block of Timber Oaks Drive for a grass fire.  Firefighters arrived and extinguished about an eighth of an acre that was burning.

The department urges the public to use extreme caution at this time, during the dry conditions and low humidity.
