BURTON PANTHERS WELCOME COMMUNITY TO NEW FOOTBALL FIELD
The Burton community came out in full force Friday night to Burton ISD’s new Panther Stadium, for a day three years in the making.
The Burton Panthers hosted their first home football game since the 2021 season, when the school district passed a bond election to improve and renovate several facilities, including the football field. Since then, the Panthers had been on the road for each of their games while construction was ongoing.
Burton ISD Superintendent Vikki Curry said she was thrilled beyond words to see this night finally come, and that it was “truly a community celebration.”
Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jason Hodde said this was “a real special night,” one that “gives you goosebumps.”
Friday night not only marked the first game on the new field, but it was also Senior Night, so members of the Class of 2025 were recognized. Students from the Classes of 2023 and 2024 were also honored.
In addition, Burton celebrated homecoming and crowned new royalty. This year’s Homecoming Queen and King are Bailey Glaesmann and Greyson Mathis.
The Panthers were victorious over the Iola Bulldogs, 33-14.
